About Lucky Cat

Lucky cat is located in Midtown NYC, a hub of Japanese business and the people. Our large beckoning cat, the symbol of Maneki Neko culture of Japan, is made and decorated for greeting y’all the welcome. The restaurant is run by chef/partner Koji KAGAWA, with the concept of β€œIzakaya”, a sort of informal gastropub for Japanese, commonly visited after work-drinking. Here food is a very authentic feel to it, served in a tapas style, mostly made for sharing. Lets relax and enjoy! Irashaimase

New York is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in New York peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. I love this place it’s become one of my favorites in the city. The food is truly exquisite, and the drinks are on another level; the ramen is delicious. I recommend the Naruto drink it has matcha in it and is delicious. The atmosphere is great, especially if you go with friends, but it’s so cozy that I saw people eating alone and looking very comfortable. I’d definitely go back to Lucky Cat whenever I visit the city ❀️

Midtown East is a bit of a food desert. Lots of decent food - but nothing that stands out, especially in the Asian category. Lucky Cat is a great vibe with good food. There are a lot of yakitori-type Japanese restaurants around the city, but this one stands out from the rest. Doesn’t sacrifice variety for quality. Get a ramen and yakitori medley!

Really enjoyed our dinner at Lucky Cat! We ordered a selection of skewers and the pork belly and vegetable hotpot. Everything was flavorful and well-seasoned, and the hotpot was especially satisfyingβ€”rich, comforting, and perfect for sharing. The skewers were also nicely cooked and full of flavor. Great spot for a casual Japanese izakaya-style meal in Manhattan. Would definitely come back!

Awesome, insanely cozy and vibey place! The food is really good, I’ve had the ramen before and this time the katsu. Super good, flavorful as well. Their drink menu is packed and the atmosphere of the place is great. Genuinely feels relaxing to sit there and eat some great food, good for the soul
